Alkalinity Increaser is a granular product used to safely increase the alkalinity level in pools. Total alkalinity acts as a buffer against pH change. This helps protect equipment and pool surfaces and makes the water more comfortable. Low total alkalinity may be caused by make–up water or other chemicals used to maintain the pool. Low alkalinity it hard to control the pH which could lead to corrosive water and damage to equipment. High alkalinity can cause cloudy water and water that is difficult to manage.
